) finally caused us to look elsewhere.  We didn’t need all the “social” networking, just a quick workout, which is why we turned to SNAP Fitness on Perryville in Rockford.  It’s convenient, inexpensive and open 24/7.  We can go when we want and best of all, we have access to ANY SNAP Fitness in the country when we travel!

The facility is very clean, the people are friendly and Heather and staff would be more than happy to give you a tour and answer any questions.  We talked with Leo and Heather and they were both very helpful.  We are experienced, but I can tell that if you’re just starting out this smaller, more intimate environment would be just the place to feel comfortable, get knowledgeable and get your workout in without all the parking, crowding, etc.  They have 24-Video surveillance for your safety and they are located in a higher-traffic area so there is always someone around…in other words, it is a VERY safe area.  Showers available if you’d like to use them, but most people just come in, work out and head home.

You also have access, as a member, to your own personal fitness site so you can track your workouts and visits.  They even give you discounts to other services through their corporate agreements. There are NO contracts or long-term commitments!

Noodles and Company

This is a bittersweet recommendation because I was hooked on Noodles and Company years ago while working downtown Chicago.  Now that it's here in Rockford, and after having told everyone I know as well as strangers how great it is they are all going to clog the parking lot for months not leaving a space for me!

I'm not even going to review the place...just go...you'll fall in love with the food, the service and now...the location!

Sinnissippi Music Shell Rockford's "Ravinia,"

Sinnissippi Music Shell Rockford's "Ravinia," where you can enjoy music during beautiful summer evenings under towering oak trees in a natural setting.

Dedicated in 1950, the Music Shell in Sinnissippi Park is an acoustic amphitheater, which can accommodate as many as 700 on benches, and up to 3,000 on the terraces and lawn.

A favorite spot of many local congregations and arts organizations, the Music Shell hosts a wide variety of events throughout the season. For information on renting the Music Shell, please call Customer Service at 815-987-8800 or TTY 888-871-6171.

History:
The Music Shell was officially presented to the City of Rockford and the Rockford Park District on June 4, 1950 by the Rockford Lions Club, in conjunction with the Rockford Civic Orchestra.

Sapora Playworld

Carlson Ice Arena

Carlson Ice Arena/Riverview Ice HouseWelcome to the Rockford Park District's ice facilities in Rockford, Illinois. Whether you are an avid skater or just a beginner, a hockey fanatic or a figure skating enthusiast, these ice facilities are the place to be! We have been serving the area's diverse skating interests since 1975. From champion figure skaters to outstanding youth and high school hockey teams to recreational skaters. We provide year-round programming for all ages and abilities.

Carlson Ice Arena - Located near the I-90 tollway at Riverside Boulevard and Perryville Road, the Carlson Ice Arena features a 200 x 85 feet ice rink with seating for 600 spectators. This facility is also home to the Sapora Playworld, a three-level soft play structure designed for children ages 5-12 and a Tiny Tots Playspace designed for children 4 and under.

Riverview Ice House
Located on the banks of the beautiful Rock River in downtown Rockford, the Riverview Ice House features two skating surfaces: an 85 ft. x 200 ft. regulation size Main Rink with grandstand seating for 900 and a 60 ft. x 100 ft. instructional Studio Rink. Adjacent to the spacious lobby are a skate rental shop, concession counter and community meeting room.

Atwood Environmental Center

Atwood Environmental Center Rockford IL From its 334-acre location, the Center in Rockford, Illinois offers residential environmental outdoor education, day programs, summer camps, mobile nature programs, challenge courses, birds of prey programs, cross country ski clinics, and special events.

Atwood Environmental Center is located in historic Atwood Park, which encompasses 334 acres of woodland, prairie, river and marsh habitat. Atwood is home to the Birds of Prey program, with owls, hawks and bald eagles in residence for visitors to enjoy.

Sportscore Complexes

Sportscore Complexes The Rockford Park District's two Sportscore Complexes are revered by athletes, respected by coaches, and recognized by professional organizations as some of the finest amateur sports facilities in the Midwest and the USA.

Our success is simple: we don't have lumpy, bumpy, worn out fields. We love turf, and our loving pride shows in the 17 soccer fields at Sportscore One and 23 at Sportscore Two. Athletes know these as the "field of dreams." Sports Turf Manager's Association just awarded Sportscore Two "Sports Complex of the Year" for 2005.

Because of earned reputation and past experience, we can accommodate larger tournaments - we were selected to host the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) Region II soccer tournament over six days in June of 2004 for the third time - (and will be returning again in 2008)!

Noodles & Company

One of our favorite places to eat is Noodles & Company. You'll find use almost every weekend at the Noodles located in Janesville, Wisconsin. It's the high-end fast food of pasta. They have an extensive menu given the fact that they serve primarily pasta. This includes soups and a variety of add-ons such as shrimp, chicken and meatballs.

One of the nicest things we like, besides the food, at all of the Noodles that we've visited is the service. Most of their staff is young, but they are all personable and they all seem to have the autonomy to make unilateral decisions in an effort to provide the best possible service to their customers.

They have one of the coolest web sites around and you’ll enjoy looking around and planning for your trip to Noodles. The prices are fare and the portions are generous. We recommend the Pesto Cavatappi with the parmesan chicken, the flat bread and a rice crispy treat to top it off. They have a variety of drinks which includes beer and wine. One of our other favorite Noodle’s locations is downtown Madison, just off the capital square.

We've had both of our vehicles tinted by TNT and the service and quality they provided was excellent. It's a short drive to Madison (you can eat at NOODLES if you plan appropriately!).

The cost is reasonable and the look of your vehicle post tinting will enhance it's look. You can even see how the tint will look on your vehicle before you even leave your house!
